If you are a member of American Legion Post 162, and have questions regarding VA Benefits, please contact me.
The Service Officer of Post 162 and the D.A.V. are at the post every Tuesday 10AM until 2PM to help post members with VA claims or to answer any questions.
In January 2014 Commander Cruz made arrangements with the State Commander to hold Service Officer Training at the American Legion Post 162. This is the first time this was ever accomplished at any Post.
Commander Cruz invited sister Post's to join our training. Our training lasted two (2) days. We now have fourteen (14) Service Officers at Post 162. By having our Service Officers trained at the Post, our Commander saved our a large financial expense. Currently,
a few of our Service Officers are volunteering at West Commercial VA Canter while their normal Service Officer is out sick for several weeks. Thanks to DAV, disabled Vets can now ride Tri-Rail to the West Palm Beach and Miami Veteran's hospitals for free. The DAV recently donated a check for $9000 to Post 162. The money was received from the National Football league.
